It's been a while...

Life has been busy, so I have lots to blog about.  Let's see I had conference with the older 3 kids teachers and they are all doing well.  Not going to get into details, but one of the teachers doesn't seem to be setting standards we agree with.  Some of you know, some don't but I have been feeling lead to homeschool.  Praying that if it's the Lords will then I will follow...

I hear so many people say "I don't have the personality" or " I know I couldn't do it."  This is pretty much how I felt, until recently.  Praying, talking w/ friends that homeschool, and reading Home Sweet Homeschool
It's written by a Mother who didn't even have a highschool diploma. She homeschooled ALL 8 of her children and I think most, if not all went on to college around age 15 and got very good degrees. The point I am trying to make is that God can use anyone to accomplish his will. We don't have to do it ourselves, but with the grace of God. He through us. I also believe who better than the people that know them best to teach them. Who taught your child to eat, walk, and use the toilet?
If you think of us would you pray that the Lord would make it evident as to what we should do? We appreciate the prayers and would love to pray for you for your specific needs. Just leave a message or email us. Below are some recent pictures. I should have September and October updated on the the family site this week. There will be tons of pictures there...

The Corn Maize

As I write this I cannot believe it's that time of year already.  This was our 3rd year going to the Hondo Corn Maize here in South Texas.  It was HOT, but we had a nice time.  It's thier opening weeked and FREE to Military and thier family.  We weren't able to pick pumpkins, but got little ones for now.  The kids did the barrel ride(which is attached to a tractor), and of course we did the hayride.  This year you drove out to a spot where they had a nice fall setup for pictures.  You can see above in the heading our family picture there.  The kids also jumped on this huge rainbow colored platform, Alisha shot the corn cannon winning 2 free bags of kettle corn.  We ate PLENTY of kettle corn! The kids went down a slide that resembled large black pipes, and of course we did the corn maize.  Below are some pictures from our visit.

Proud Mama

So Soccer has finally kicked off.  It was supposed to 2 weeks ago, but 1st time was cancelled due to the field needing to be sprayed for red ants, then last weekend b/c of the possibility of severe weather.  Josh also started his 1st steps soccer on Wednesday.  He looked so cute in his brand new cleats and high socks.

I also had our Sunday Schools Mom's 1st play group here in my home Friday.  There were 6 Moms and 9 children total.  I am looking foward to many more of these.  Below are some pictures of soccer and today on base there was also a celebration for kids and the Air Force's 61st Birthday.  The kids has a great time and so did we.  Here are some pictures Daddy took w/ his phone camera.  I hope to have mine uploaded tomorrow and will post a few more...

Even though in South Texas it doesn't feel like fall yet, I figured why not put a nice fall background.  I miss that season as it's so beautiful.  All the different leaves and colors.  The air is more crisp.

Soccer season is set to kickoff next Saturday for the 3 older kids, and our lil Josh will start 1st Steps soccer soon also.  We decided not to do AWANA this year as we felt it was taking away from our day of rest on Sunday.  We are however starting our own family Bible Study as soon as it gets here.  It's called "our 24 family ways".  Here is a link to where we are getting it from.

We are also getting the coloring book w/ it for the kids to have an activity that goes w/ the lesson.  Praying that God will lead us as a family and bring us closer together.  Things are going well in the Yturaldi home.  The kids all love their new teachers, and we are having fun watching them learn new things and grow.  We are looking foward to visiting family again in November.  This year we will get to see Uncle Matt too.  Been 2 years since we got to see him so we are looking foward.

Not sure any of you are following the news, but I am quite excited to get to vote this year.

Well I hope on my next post I will have pics to go with it.  For now I am off to sleep before another Manic Monday.  Yes I loved Cyndi Lauper , oop's I mean The Bangles...thanks cousin for the correction : )

First post

Andrew set this up for me to try out.  I have friends who have weblogs and figured why not put one on our page.  Let's see...

The kids are in school now for thier 2nd full week and I am still missing them pretty badly.  I can see why people homeschool.  The hustle and bustle of getting 5 kids out the door  with lunches, bookbags, etc.  Tomorrow I am going to see if the 2 boys that normally ride the bus  want to walk.  The bus has been coming a whole 10 minutes before the schedule bus time(so 6:54 or so) and it's tough enough trying to make them wake up, and be out by 7:04.  We need that extra 10 minutes.  Hopefully I will have this figured out more for my next post and will have a prettier background....

Off to bed.
